Plans

Plans for the Future

Sometimes one has to be brutally honest with oneself. It became very apparent in May that Bounce was not going to change the landscape of English Literature. As a book it's alright. It has its moments; but it is a book about suicide which is a hint niche. Harry Potter and the Da Vinci Code it ain't. What has happened, though, has been much better. In March I was asked to talk at a conference of Police Negotiators. Part of their job is talking down suicides; 'Jumpers', as they call them.

I just about got away with it. Again. The boss man, Jon, decided that there was the gist of a decent address in the rubbish that I spouted. As a result I was asked to speak at another conference. This time Jon edited my nonsense and it went down quite well. I gave the same talk in Manchester a month later, and that went swimmingly too.

I have been asked to do similar in the new year, which is grand, but what I would really like to do, would be give the same address to young people in their teens and early twenties; the Bridgend generation.

I have an idea how to approach this end, so we shall see.

Much love to anyone reading this..

Jude Redmond.
